Carnation Club is a space all about clothing care in Castlemaine, on Djaara Country. It is a shop and design studio run by Holly Simpson. It’s a place to come together to share the love of sewing and all of the joys and frustrations that come along with it.
Inspired by a love of gardening and stitching Holly designs and makes classic country clothing with preexisting materials and trims, either making ‘Original’ garments from scratch or reworking existing ‘Individual’ pieces. She also designs thoughtful sewing tools, notions and kits for skilling up with needle and thread.
Carnation Club hosts small group sewing gatherings every month, we call them Sewcials. These gatherings are to grow practical skills to empower folks to embrace repair practices and build a caring relationship with their clothing. The focus of these gatherings is not about being perfect, but giving it a go and connecting with makers of all abilities in our community. With practice and care your own style will begin to bloom.
